Our aim is to create a conference programme full of learning opportunities for delegates. With over 20 sessions, the conference programme covers the topics that the industry wants and needs to learn about right now.
As at all of EWEA’s events, delegates will have the opportunity to get involved and easily interact with speakers. We want people to feel involved whilst listening to presentations about the latest offshore wind energy findings.
The programme will be themed across four conference tracks:
- Financing
The 2013 conference will place a special emphasis on one of the key issues in the offshore wind industry: financing. Where will the money come from to build new offshore projects – as well as the grids, ports and vessels needed to make them operational? For the first time, this year’s conference will feature a dedicated Financing track, designed by finance specialists, which will examine the impact of the regulatory environment and explore how the sector can attract (new) investors. - Markets, Strategies & Planning
The regulatory landscape affects the offshore industry across the whole spectrum – from grids to planning, environment to competitiveness. This track will provide delegates with the latest updates on EU and national level policy initiatives, case studies from current and completed projects and an insight into the new markets emerging within Europe. - Industrialising the Supply Chain
This track will look at the ways in which the offshore wind sector can improve its processes and techniques – from concept to operation– in order to become more efficient and reduce costs. By learning from other industries, or taking a long hard look in the mirror, these sessions can help us to take concrete steps in addressing the cost issue which remains a barrier in the minds of many financiers, utilities and policymakers. - Future Technologies
There are many exciting innovations happening in offshore wind technology, and this track will showcase major recent developments in deep offshore foundations, installation vessels, resource assessment, O&M and technical grid integration issues. Again, there will be a strong emphasis on technological advances that contribute to cost efficiency and streamlining wind farm operations.
