The ship was built in Rotterdam and was inaugurated by Queen Juliana in 1956. The legendary former flagship of the Holland America Line is 228 metres long, 28 metres wide and 61 metres in height. Also referred to as ‘La Grande Dame’, the ship is rich in history and renowned as a cultural and historic value.

The workshop dinner took place in the Odyssee Room located on the B-Deck. The room takes its name from the fact that Homer’s story of the Odyssee is depicted in the ceramic relief that brings the walls to life. Crowned with dozens of lamps shaped like illuminated ceramic stars, globes and diamonds, the ceiling is a real eye-catcher.
