Health and safety video set to premiere at EWEA 2014

The wind industry has expanded rapidly over the last decade, but what do we know about health and safety best practices? EWEA is set to launch a new video on Tuesday 11 March at 4pm on the EWEA Stand (6D40) aimed at exploring health and safety best practice.

“Companies can use this video as part of their training programmes for technicians and employees,” said Ivan Pineda, Head of Policy Analysis, at EWEA. “The video is designed to support companies’ training programmes to make sure everybody working in our industry is safe,” he added.

Wind energy is a young industry and higher levels of risk come from employees not having the benefit of years of experience. Moreover, new wind turbine models – especially offshore – entail a higher level of risk until the sector has more experience working with them.
