IEA Wind Energy Technology Roadmap, and recent activities of IEA WIND

This workshop presents recent work at the International Energy Agency (IEA) and its Implementing Agreement on wind energy (IEA WIND).

IEA is in the process of updating the Wind Energy Technology Roadmap published in 2009. The preliminary key findings and actions for the new Roadmap will be presented by IEA.

IEA WIND will present the highlights of its report: ‘Long-Term R&D Needs for Wind Energy for the Time Frame 2013 to 2030’, as well as the latest results from ongoing research tasks and plans for the next five years.

Participants will discuss wind industry priorities and needs for achieving the goal of supplying 18% of global electricity needs with wind power in 2050. Participant comments will help improve the updated Wind Energy Technology Roadmap.
