European Energy Programme for Recovery (EEPR) workshop:
European support to the installation of the first large-scale wind farms in deep waters far from shore.

This workshop will present projects that have been supported through the European Energy Programme for Recovery (EEPR). The EEPR was launched in 2009 and through this programme the European Union committed 565 million EUR to the offshore wind sector.
All presented projects relate to the offshore installation of multimegawatt turbines (5 – 6 MW) on various types of substructures in deep waters (40 – 50 m) far from shore (50 to 100 km).
The presentations will give a state of play of these projects, the main lessons learnt so far in the manufacturing and installation phase, and first indications of operational experience. The presentations will be followed by a discussion on how these project experiences can contribute to the cost-efficient implementation of future large scale offshore wind farms.
