Fostering wind energy development through a new regulatory framework? Experiences from France and Germany.

This side event organized by the German-French Renewable Energy Coordination Office will provide participants with in-depth knowledge of the recent developments in the regulatory framework for wind energy in France and Germany. Particular attention will be paid to:

  • Practical experiences of the wind energy sector with the new ICPE regulation in France, e.g. the related environmental impact assessment;
  • The recently enacted wind power decree of North Rhine-Westphalia aiming at fostering wind development in Germany;
  • Feedback from a project developer on the implementation of wind farms with a focus on legal-administrative processes in both countries.
