Conference delegate passes as well as exhibitor staff passes include access to the daily lunch.

Charity business run

Do good to your business and yourself, take part in the EWEA 2012 charity business run. The participation fee is €25 which is donated entirely to EWEA’s charity, Renewable World. If you have not already done so, sign up at the registration desk.

Start: 17 April 2012 at 7:00 am sharp, at the Kvaesthusbroen located opposite Skuespilhuset, Sankt Annæ Plads 1250, Copenhagen.
Two loops of 5 or 10km will be available. The EWEA 2012 Business run is organised in cooperation with Flensborg and Associates and Danish Wind Industry Assocation.

Commercial opening hours in Copenhagen

Banks are open from 09:30 to 16:00 on weekdays with late hours until 18:00 on Thursdays (closed Saturdays and Sundays).

Shops are open:
Monday – Thursday 10:00 – 18:00
Friday 10:00 – 19:00
Saturday 10:00 – 16:00
First and last Sunday of the month 12:00 – 16:00.

Department stores and supermarkets usually stay open longer.

Credit cards and cash

The currency in Denmark is the Danish Krone (DKK). Current exchange rates can be found at www.xe.com/ucc

Cash points are widely available. There is one ATM machine located in the West entrance (exhibition registration) and one in the Congress entrance (conference registration).

All major credit cards are widely accepted throughout Copenhagen in shops, restaurants, hotels etc. Some places might charge a fee when accepting foreign credit cards as payment. Be sure to bring your PIN code and a picture ID when using a credit card in Denmark. Foreign exchange facilities can be found at the airport, railway station and major banks.

Payment for onsite registration should be done by credit card and cash. VISA and Eurocard/MasterCard are the only credit cards accepted. Your credit card transaction will be processed through MCI Benelux S.A. (EWEA 2012 Event Secretariat). Please note that your monthly credit card statement will indicate payment to “EWEA”.

The normal electric current in Copenhagen is 220-230 VAC, frequency 50Hz. Plugs and sockets may differ from those in other parts of the world, so travellers should bring an adaptor.

Entry requirements

All visitors must be in possession of an identity card or a passport. Visas are not required for citizens of the EU, the USA, Canada and among other countries.
Non-EU citizens require a valid passport to enter Denmark.

Poster session

Hundreds of poster presentations will be available to all participants for viewing throughout the event in the poster area.
The poster session is an opportunity for all participants to meet with the poster presenters and discuss the presentations in more detail. The poster session takes place on Tuesday 17 April at 14:00 in the poster area.

Press

A press conference is scheduled immediately after the opening session on Monday 16 April (timings to be confirmed). A fully-equipped press room (room BV1, first level) will be at the disposal of journalists throughout the event. Computers, refreshments, background information and press packs will be available.

Proceedings

A full four-day conference delegate pass includes free access to the online conference proceedings website published during the event. Pre-registered delegates will receive an e-mail with their login details to the proceedings on the first day of the conference. Delegates registered on site will receive the link shortly after the conference. The proceedings include all submitted abstracts and PowerPoint presentations, synchronised audio files, video files of selected sessions, poster presentations and full papers (where available). For all other event participants, or for those who did not attend, the access fees are given below.

Registration information and onsite opening hours

Online registration is available for all registration categories before as well as throughout the event. However, please not that fees for exhibition and conference passes increase as of 15 April by up to 35%.

All participants will be provided with a badge upon arrival at the venue, which must be worn throughout the event. Badges are marked according to the type of pass purchased, and participants are not admitted to the conference or exhibition without their badge. You may also be required to show your badge and the corresponding ticket at some social events. Bags and event material will be handed out to the venue (subject to availability).

Visa application invitation letter

Attendees must have registered and paid the required registration fees before requesting an official letter of invitation. All requests should be made during the online registration. Please note that the organisers will not be able to contact or intervene with any Embassy or Consulate office on behalf of a participant.
