Track Chair: Jan Serup Hylleberg, Danish Wind Industry Association (DWIA), Denmark
Since September 2008, Jan Hylleberg has been the CEO of the Danish Wind Industry Association (DWIA). Coming from an executive position within the Danish Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry, Jan has wide experience of promoting an industry to key decision makers. Prior to working with pharmaceuticals, he was in charge of the political department in the Danish Dentist Association. Jan has also worked with the Confederation of Danish Employers.
As CEO of DWIA, Jan’s immediate priority is strengthening the total supply chain of the industry, and focusing on the constant development of the framework conditions upholding Denmark as one of the leaders in global wind market.

Track Chair: Michael Liebreich, Bloomberg New Energy Finance, United Kingdom
Michael Liebreich is the head of Bloomberg New Energy Finance, the leading provider of information and research to senior investors, executives and policy-makers in clean energy and the carbon markets. Michael founded the company in 2004 and acted as Chairman and Chief Executive until its acquisition by Bloomberg at the end of 2009.
Michael serves as a Member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on New Energy Architecture and is on the Selection Committee for the Zayed Future Energy Prize. Prior to founding New Energy Finance Michael was an entrepreneur, venture capitalist (with Groupe Arnault), and executive, helping to build around 25 successful companies. In the 1990s he acted as Deputy Managing Director of Associated Press Television, Founding Director of Sports News Television and non-executive director of Interactive Investor. He also spent five years in the London office of McKinsey & Company. He is a two-time finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
Michael has an MA in Engineering from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from Harvard, where he was a Harkness Fellow and Baker Scholar. He was a member of the British Ski Team at the 1992 Albertville Olympic Games and is Chairman of St Marks Hospital Foundation, a medical charity.

Track Chair: Henning Kruse, Chairman of TPWind
Henning Kruse has been in the wind industry for 25 years – starting with BONUS Energy, now Siemens Wind, Henning has from the early days been involved with sales and projects on a global scale. He has been active and taken part in the developments in most countries with wind technologies at scale. As such he has in-depth knowledge of global markets and in particular how market and technology innovations develop under various regimes.
Henning is the Chairman of TPWind, the European Technology Platform Wind, a think-tank and network established by the European Commission to advance the usage of wind power in the energy supply chain and identifying ways and technologies to secure the European leadership and competitive advantage in a tough global market environment. He is Director of Governmental Affairs in Siemens Wind and the Chairman of the Danish Wind Industry Association.

Track Chair: Jos Beurskens, ECN Wind Energy, The Netherlands
Jos Beurskens headed the Renewable Energy Unit and the Wind Energy Unit of the Energy research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) from 1989 to 2005. At present he is the Scientific director of the “We@Sea” Foundation. He is member of the Board of Trustees of the Windunie, a co-operative enterprise of Dutch farmers operating about 440 MW of wind power on a private basis. He was a technical and scientific advisor to the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the former Institute for Solar Energy Technology (ISET) of Kassel, Germany.
Throughout his career, Mr. Beurskens has been extensively involved with various industry associations and policy groups involved in renewable energy. He was a founding member of the Netherlands Wind Energy Association (NWEA), the International Meeting of Test Stations (IMTS) and the European Academy of Wind Energy (EAWE). He works with the College of Members of the European Renewable Energy Centres Agency (EUREC), the International Energy Association (IEA) and has been retained as an advisor to the European Commission and several national governments on R&D programmes in the renewable energy field.
Integration in electricity systems and markets
Track Chair: Frans van Hulle, European Wind Energy Association (EWEA), Belgium
Frans van Hulle (MSc. Metallurgical Engineering Leuven University Belgium 1974) is Technical Advisor for EWEA (European Wind Energy Association) in Brussels, focusing on large-scale integration of wind power into the European electricity system. He coordinated the European TradeWind study (published 2009), is convener of EWEA Working Group Grid Code requirements and is vice-chair of WG3 Grid Integration of the Wind Energy Technology Platform. He participated as Lead Author in the Integration Chapter of the Special Report on Renewable Energy of IPCC (published 2011).
Science and research
Peter Tavner, Emeritus Professor, School of Engineering and Computing Sciences, Durham University, UK
Peter Tavner is an Emeritus Professor at Durham University. He has held senior research, development and technical positions in the power, electrical manufacturing and wind industry, joining Durham in 2003. He has been a vigorous exponent and researcher into wind power reliability over the past 10 years and is active in researching and developing high reliability techniques for the industry aimed at lowering the Cost of Energy from wind power.
