Moreover all necessary security and logistical measures were taken to ensure utmost safety and care.
EWEA is however making every possible effort to investigate possibilities for reimbursement of conference fees to those attendants who were eventually prevented from reaching the conference venue for pure force majeure reasons. This process takes time given the fact we have to assess the impact internally and liaise with our broker and insurance company accordingly.

It has been another successful day in Paris.
Today we received another strong participation and we have doubled the numbers from yesterday, making the exhibition floor busy and buzzing.
We hosted successful B2B matchmaking sessions, we discussed offshore challenges at the intergovernmental workshop gathering policy makers from more than 10 countries and we debated the future of energy with industry, research and scientific leaders.
It’s been an exciting day and we look forward to another successful day tomorrow.

Dear EWEA2015 registered participants,
We very much hope that you will be joining us in Paris tomorrow.
Following close collaboration with the local authorities and the Paris police, EWEA is implementing extraordinary security measures. All participants will undergo a thorough security check at the main entrance (Pavillion 1, Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles). All personnel and their belongings (bags, luggage) will be checked and vetted by onsite security.
With this in mind, we ask that you allow for more time to enter the venue – approximately 20 minutes. Rest assured that EWEA is doing everything to ensure that admission to the event is a smooth process.
We thank you for your understanding and forbearance on this matter. We look forward to welcoming you at EWEA 2015 in what we hope will be a successful event.

EWEA 2015 will take place as planned
Despite the declaration of a state of emergency by President Hollande, all air and rail links are operating, and airports and train stations are open. Furthermore, the French authorities have given a clear signal clarifying that all foreseen activities next week should take place as planned. On the basis of this, plus reassurance from the Paris Police Prefecture, the EWEA management has decided that EWEA 2015 will take place as planned. (Therefore, our terms and conditions with regard to the participation at our event remain applicable in the case of cancellation).

Marie-Chistine Marghem, Belgian Minister of Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development, reconfirmed today to EWEA that she will take part in the opening session of EWEA 2015 in Paris on 17 November.

EWEA has just been informed by ViParis and the Paris Police Prefecture that there is no restriction on congresses taking place in Paris for the time being. Therefore, EWEA continues its build-up under enforced security measures.

Thalys confirms train traffic is running as normal today and additional safety measures are in place in Paris and Brussels.
Eurostar also announces that its trains are currently running on time.

EWEA expresses its deepest condolences with those affected by the appalling attacks in Paris last night. Our thoughts go out to all the people of France.
The President of France has declared a state of emergency. This involves the introduction of border controls and heightened security measures at airports, stations and elsewhere.
Air and rail links are operating, and airports and stations are open – but the security checks are of course causing delays.
As of now the instruction to EWEA from the French authorities is to continue the preparations of EWEA 2015 in Paris next week. The build-up of the exhibition at the Porte de Versailles site continues with minor delays.
EWEA is in contact with the relevant authorities and will provide additional information as it becomes available.
